this 2018 has a ton to offer
The wine is hedonistic as well as intellectual
old vines on riparia
Nutmeg and clove provide a counterbalance to the sweet fruits
Faiveley Corton 'Clos des Cortons Faiveley' Monopole Grand Cru - 2002 (750ml) Aligote this 2018 has a ton(2002 vintage) "Intense smoky, meaty, carrot top nose with black cherry, peppery, beeswax aromas and some tobacco compost notes. Dry, slightly fat style with fine, slightly chunky tannins. On the palate there's more spice compost, black raspberry, citrus peel and gamey, smoky tobacco flavours. Long meaty, rootsy finish. Needs a decade to reach its peak. Terrific bottle. (Anthony Gismondi and Stuart Tobe)." Gismondi on Wine
