Captured in this early twentieth century image is the Strada Reale, or "Royal Street," since renamed "Republic Street" following Malta's independence in 1964. The street is lined with historic buildings, including the Magisterial Palace of the Grandmaster, which currently houses the House of Representatives of Malta.
