Shown in the illustration is a robed figure surrounded by archways. Giorgio de Chirico (1888 1978) was a pre Surrealist and Surrealist painter born in Volos, Greece. He founded the art movement, Scuola Metafisica, and is known for his metaphysical and dreamlike images. De Chirico won much praise for his works, and is remembered for his early
