1941 Print Corn Mating Cornfield University Wisconsin Farm Madison FZ7 Racing & Race Cars featuring travel to the EmeraldThis is an original 1941 color print of two Wisconsin graduate students experimenting in a cornfield on one of the university farms. The men were mating various strains of corn by covering young ears with parchment bags to make sure that no pollen could be present. Once the corn tassels emerged, the men would clip the silk and spray the ears with a specific pollen. They would enclose the ear in the paper bag again until the pollen could take.
