1870 France Costume Dress Women Hat First French Empire - ORIGINAL COS6 YMM6 This is an original 1929"Dames de Paris, (1813)." This is an original 1870 hand colored copper engraving of the costume of an upper class Parisian women at the time of the First French Empire or Napoleonic Empire in France, after a work by Antoine Charles Horace Vernet. The typical dress of the period had an Empire silhouette high waisted, gathered just under the bust and falling loosely below.
