1941 Print Egypt 2nd Century Basalt Nemes Uraeus Ptolemy Greek Queen Statue XHE3 XGGB8 This is an original 1932This is an original 1941 black and white halftone print that depicts two fragmented statues from Ptolemaic Egypt which depicts the inorganic meshing of the two very different cultures through art. Although the male figure (thought to represent one of the Ptolemys) is wearing a nemes with a uraeus on the front, his features and hair appear to be Hellenistic, much as the Greek queen on the right has been depicted here as the Egyptian deity Isis.
