"Angkor Thom" translates to "Great City". The Leper King, or the Hindu god Yama, is named so because the moss and plants growing out of the sculpture resembled someone with the disease. However; there are several different stories concerning the identity of the sculpture. The original sculpture can now be seen in the National Museum of
