Pictured here is a daimyo from Kyoto riding a horse. It is reproduced here from the private collection of M. Louis Gonse by Henri Gurard. Henri Charles Gurard was born in Paris on April 24, 1846. Gurard started his artistic career in architectural design studying at the Ecoles des Beux Art.
