Formed 1991 by schoolmates [a=Kasper Eistrup], [a=Mads Tunebjerg] and [a=Asger Engholm Techau] initially as a trio named Nirvana, playing heavy blues. As the US [a=Nirvana] grew in popularity, the band was aware that they had to change name. They settled on Kashmir, after a song by one of their favorite bands, [a=Led Zeppelin]. Kashmir finished second in the 1993 Danish Rock Championship (the winner that year was
