Arts graphiques Volume 141In the mid 1890s, he became interested in the Pictorialist movement, which sought to establish photography as a fine art. He then became a member of several photographic societies and, from 1907, became passionate about the autochrome plate, the first direct color photography process invented by the Lumire brothers. In just a few years, he produced more than a thousand images, which constitute an unparalleled testimony to the rise of this technique.
